DROBO DASHBOARD 2.0.3 IS COMPLETELY INACCESSIBLE WITH VOICEOVER

I just wanted to let all concerned know that Drobo DashBoard version 2.0.3 seems to be totally inaccessible with VoiceOver, the screen reader built into Mac OS10 to enable blind and visually impaired persons to effectively use the Mac Os10 operating system. When the application is launched nothing what so ever is accessible to VoiceOver accept for the apple menu bar. I activated the menu bar and selected the about item and could not even see any text in the about window. This is the piece of software used to control all drobo appliances. I fully intend to contact Data Robotics regarding this matter.

How to assign Shortcuts to any menu item in a Mac Application

To assign a keyboard shortcut to a menu item in an application do the following:

  1. Pull down the Apple menu and choose System Preferences.
  2. Click Keyboard.
  3. Click Keyboard Shortcuts.
  4. Click Add an Application Shortcut.
  5. Click the Popup Application button and choose the application you want to add a keyboard shortcut to.
  6. In the Menu Title box Enter the exact spelling of the program menu item. Please note that this is case sensitive, so if the menu item is capitalized you must capitalize the spelling here as well.
  7. Click in the Keyboard Shortcut box and hold down the keys you want to assign.
  8. Click Add.

There you have it. Hopefully your new keyboard shortcut should now work.

A Short Barefoot Walk

I was walking down to the mailbox and one of my flip flops broke. I took them off and just started going barefoot, and you know what? it felt really good to have my feet free.  I just may keep doing it. I may have gotten some looks but who cares! I like doing it and that’s the main thing. Sometimes life is just too short to worry about what others may think of such a trivial matter. I wasn’t hurting anyone else by doing it. Remember, your fee are your own.

Where is your office?

While sitting on the couch working on my computer, I thought o the question: Where is your office?

With the advent of mobile Internet connectivity and portable computing devices that can fit into a bag, purse, or even a pocket, we have the ability to take our office with us where ever we want. For me my office could be:

  • On my couch in my living room
  • Working in my actual office space that I have in a room in my basement
  • Outside on the back deck
  • sitting in a car

Where is your space today??

Lost my track ajustment control

It seems that I have lost my track position adjustment control in the iPod application and other applications that use the same control set on the iPhone. I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me how I can restore this functionality. This was a very handy control for quickly scrolling through long tracks, audiobooks being a good example.

Going BareFoot

I don’t know what it is about summer time, but I always get the urge to go barefoot. I usually go barefoot around the house and in the yard. I haven’t quite gotten up the cur rage to start barefooting in public. It is just this thing about summer and warm weather that makes me want to remove shoes and socks and keep my feet bare.

Testing with Marsedit

I just installed Mars edit on the mac. I must say, after all of the blogging solutions I have tried this feels, at least to me, one of the nicest platforms which to work with. I think I will be doing more writing with this editor.
